(ODA) One Day Academy - Outdoor Fellowship & Fun Day!
A "Family & Friends" Event - October 2020

We set up over 15 activities around camp property, some self-guided and some facilitated by our staff, and families got to roam and bond and spend the afternoon getting to know each other in the great outdoors! Then, the evening ended with a sunset and dinner and s'mores over the campfire .

Iglesia Conexiones Youth Group Hangout
September 2020

A small youth group came out one afternoon when there was no school and did archery, canoeing, and just hung out having fun. Trips can be as scheduled or as relaxed as you choose, but either way the day is memorable and educational in so many unexpected ways! There is so much to discover about ourselves and each other when we get to spend time getting out of our comfort zones and building relationships.

This is the 2nd year for the 2nd grade class at Highland Lakes Elementary School to come out and spend their yearly field trip with us! Their wonderful teachers bring such a fun vibe, and we love designing the activities with them; the field trip content focused around local wildlife, tracks, observation skills, note taking skills, hiking, healthy risk-assessment & analysis, and compost worms & decomposition.

Peace of Christ Church Retreat
Round Rock, TX
January 25, 2020

While the parents and other adults of the church were participating in a day of reflection, prayer, and rejuvenation, their kids went adventuring on a fun-filled day of outdoor ed activities! We made observation journals for written and illustrated descriptions of our surroundings, hiked and challenged our senses, bird-watched, built reading forts, and crafted our way through the day. This group of  explorers were anywhere from 3-12 years old and were insightful, observant, and so creative!

MFISD 5th Graders
Moving
 to Middle School
Team-building Camp!

Marble Falls ISD has four different elementary campuses that all combine to form one big middle school campus. With so many new people and experiences, the change from elementary to middle school can be tough.  In hopes of easing this transition, all the 5th grade students spent a day out at camp doing activities that focused on team-building, self-evaluation, goal setting,  and encouraged them to get out of their comfort zones.

MFISD Highland Lakes Elementary - 2nd Graders

May 2, 2019
75 students and close to 25 parents/teachers braved the stormy weather and were so flexible and positive! Even though we had to change up the day's plan, we still had a lot of fun and managed to bring the outdoors inside or under cover.  We built reading forts, learned about local wildlife and tracks, planted herbs and succulents, learned about composting worms, and made some beautiful wildflower art!
Thank you HLES for being such wonderful campers!
